Welcome to Active Pediatrics! Providing Occupational Therapy services to children and youth in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Occupational Therapy focuses on enabling people to engage in everyday activities. Pediatric Occupational Therapists focus specifically on improving children’s functioning and independence in the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. An Occupational Therapist will look at many areas of your child’s development, including their gross and fine motor skills, emotional development, sensory processing, and social skills. Occupational therapy can help children develop skills such as dressing, eating, ball games, brushing teeth, and many others.
At Active Pediatrics, we provide occupational therapy services to your child in office or in their natural environment, whether at home, school, daycare, or even the park! The goal is to offer support in areas where your child may require assistance, skill development, or modification. Active Pediatrics focuses on the activities that are most important to you and your child’s daily functioning. Using a strengths-based approach, the Occupational Therapist will focus on making therapy fun while providing skills and tools that can be incorporated into daily life to help your child reach their fullest potential.

You do not need a GP referral to seek OT services, but if you are concerned about your child’s development, your GP is a good place to start. Your GP can help you determine whether an occupational therapist could be helpful for your child. Click here to learn more about occupational therapy.
